From the St. Charles Herald we glean as follows: Messrs. Zicsbick and Siefelt, purchasers of the Ellsbury place, are making preparations to establish a brick yard on the farm. A careful examination of the soil shows that there is an abundance of good clay soil about two feet below the surface. They intend to burn 100,000 brick in the first kiln. One of the conditions in the purchase of the place is that they are to erect for Mrs. Ellsbury, a brick house, 16 by 24 feet, story and a half, and have it completed by the first of August. St. Charles and Vicinity. The county road southward by the brickyard is being greatly improved under the personal supervision of County Commissioners Clawson and Skidmore. (Winona Daily Republican, Thursday, June 1, 1882, Page 3)
