The Counties in Minnesota built several structures in their early days, from poor farms to jails to courthouses. These counties tried to use local products and local builders as often as possible. This usually resulted in local Minnesota brick being used. These buildings required a large number of brick and were artistically designed. Many county courthouses are on the National Historic Register.
