Page 264. Sueur county, 13 miles from Le Sueur Centre, the county seat, and 63 from St. Paul. The following are operated by steam power: A flouring mill, elevator, feed mill, and planing mill. Contains, also, 2 banks, 2 hotels, and an excellent weekly newspaper, the Le Sueur Sentinel, is a leading pork mart of the state, and exports, pork, grain, flour and poultry. A fine iron bridge spans the Minnesota river here, the construction of which cost $22,000. The Presbyterians, Methodists, Lutherans and Catholics have each a church, and a fine graded school edifice on which $13,500 have been expended and in which 5 teachers are employed, are features of the place.
