Merry Wedding Bells. A happy wedding occurred at the home of John E. Ostrom at four o’clock on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 26, 1896. Miss Amalia C. Ostrom, sister of Mr. Ostrom, was then united in marriage to Mr. John E. Lund, in the presence of a large number of friends and invited guests. Rev. Alfred Bergin pronounced the solemn words which united the loving pair and made them man and wife. Miss Augusta Johnson and Miss Hannah Munson were the bridesmaids and Mr. A. G. Ostrom and Mr. F. E. Nelson the bridesmen. Immediately after the ceremony the bridal couple and wedding guests sat down to enjoy a dainty and bounteous wedding meal. The rest of the evening was spent very pleasantly with games and various other amusements. The happy couple are both well known in this community, the bride having grown up from childhood in this city, and the groom, whose former homes was in Carver, Minn., has for several years been foreman of the Warren Brick Yard. The happy couple have a host of friends who wish them a long and happy wedded life. They were the recipients of a large number of useful and ornamental presents that will prove valuable in starting housekeeping. Manager Lund has been busy this week getting the buck (brick) yard in shop (shape) for the winter. The machinery has been properly housed and every thing now wears a laid-by appearance. (Warren Sheaf, Thursday, September 20, 1900, Volume XX, Number 42, Page 5)
John E. Lund died at his home in this city shortly before two o’clock yesterday afternoon. He had been a sufferer with consumption for years and his end was not unexpected. The funeral will be held from the Swedish Lutheran church to-morrow afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. (Warren Sheaf, Thursday, July 5, 1906, Volume 26, Number 30, Page 3)
