plant of the Minnesota Ceramic Co., Coon Creek, Minn.  Improvements to the extent of $40,000 will be inaugurated, including new kilns, additional equipment, machinery, etc.  Samuel J. Hewson, Peter J. Mayer and Charles J. Rockwood, presumably of Minneapolis, are among those interested.

The Minnesota Paving Brick Co., of Minneapolis, has filed articles of incorporation, with a capital stock of $150,000.  The incorporators are S. J. Hewson, Peter J. Mayer and C. J. Rockwood.  The new company has bought the brick plant at Coon Creek and proposes to start work on improvements and enlargements to the plant, to include dry kilns and equipment, new machinery, etc.  About $40,000 will be expended.

The Minnesota Paving Brick Co. has commenced operations at Coon Creek yards in Anoka.  The company’s specialty is paving and vitrified building brick, and it is understood that the paving product is selling at $15 per thousand.  Common building brick is also manufactured.  The present owners of this plant are using hydraulic machinery for stripping the clay beds, a water pressure of 200 pounds being required.  The kilns are improved and the dryer has a capacity of 118,000 brick.  The officers of the Minnesota Paving Brick Co. are F. G. Middlekauff, president, and B. J. Mayer, secretary.  S. H. Smith, formerly of Galesburg, Ill., is superintendent in charge at Anoka.  The main offices of the company are in Minneapolis.

Two new repressers have been bought for the Coon Creek brick yards at Anoka, Minn.  The plant will operate up to freezing time.

Work at the Coon Creek Brick Yards, Anoka, is being pushed and the plant will operate right up to freezing time.  The company has just completed an 800,000 order, and from 50,000 to 100,000 brick were sent out every day.  About 40 men are employed at the present time.  Two new represses for making pressed paving brick have been bought and will be in operation soon, considerably increasing the capacity of the plant.
